What is Christianity Explored?

Christianity Explored focuses on the person at the heart of Christianity: “Who is Jesus?” “Why did he come?” and “What does it mean to follow him?”. The gospel of Mark, which is an account of Jesus life, explains the answers to these questions as he records what Jesus said, what Jesus did and what Jesus expected from his followers.

What is each session about?

The seven interactive sessions explore Mark’s Gospel to find out more about the life of the person at the heart of the Christian faith – Jesus Christ.

What happens at a Christianity Explored course?

It’s a very informal night, there will be tea and coffee to start with and you will be not be asked to sing or pray. Our aim is to create an atmosphere where you feel comfortable to explore what it means to be a Christian. The format is normally:

  1. We discuss a question to help us think about the session theme
  2. We watch a short video with some Bible teaching on the theme
  3. We read part of the gospel of Mark
  4. We discuss some questions about the gospel passage we read

The latest Christianity Explored course started on Tuesday 6th November 2025.

We plan to start the Christianity Explored course on Tuesday 3rd November 2026.

What is Hope Explored?

Six hundred years before Jesus was born, a prophecy was made about him, that he would be called “Wonderful Counsellor, Mighty God, Everlasting Father, Prince of Peace”. The gospel of Luke, which is an account of Jesus’s life, explains how these prophecies came true, and that this is great news for all people.

What is each session about?

Over three interactive sessions, Hope Explored presents the life, death and resurrection of Jesus, and provides an opportunity to discover how he fulfils three great longings we all experience: the longing for hope, peace, and purpose.

What happens at a Hope Explored course?

It’s a very informal night, there will be tea and coffee to start with and you will be not be asked to sing or pray. Our aim is to create an atmosphere where you feel comfortable to explore the Hope found in the Bible. The format is normally:

  1. We watch a short video introducing the sessions theme
  2. We discuss our views and experiences in relation to the theme
  3. We watch a short video with some Bible teaching on the theme
  4. We read part of the gospel of Luke and discuss what it teaches

The latest Hope Explored course started on Tuesday 17th March 2026.

We plan to start the next Hope Explored course in March 2027.

What is Life Explored?

Life Explored offers the opportunity to consider questions that help us understand our search for fulfilment, and Jesus’s offer of life in all its fullness.

What is each session about?

The seven interactive sessions centre around a collection of silent films, featuring people from across the world, which help us uncover what we are really living for and how God can meet our deepest desires for happiness. Each session focuses on a different way we try to find that happiness, and asks whether it brings us the satisfaction we long for.

What happens at a Life Explored course?

It’s a very informal night, there will be tea and coffee to start with and you will be not be asked to sing or pray. Our aim is to create an atmosphere where you feel comfortable to explore the new life that God offers us in the Bible. The format is normally:

  1. We watch a short video introducing the session theme
  2. We discuss a question related to the session theme
  3. We watch a short video with some Bible teaching on the theme
  4. We read part of the Bible related to the theme and discuss what it teaches

When is the next Life Explored course running?

The latest Hope Explored course started on Tuesday 21st April 2026.

We plan to start the next Life Explored course in April 2027.

What is Discipleship Explored?

It’s easy to make a list of the things Christians do — go to church, read the Bible, pray, share the gospel — but that doesn’t really tell us much about what the experience of following Jesus is actually like. That’s where Discipleship Explored comes in.

What is each session about?

The eight interactive sessions explore the book of Philippians and are full of human stories from every continent about the reality of being a Christian in today’s world. Discipleship Explored invites us on a journey to discover a new way of living, centred on incredible love over eight sessions.

What happens at a Discipleship Explored course?

It’s a very informal night, there will be tea and coffee to start with and you will be not be asked to sing or pray. Our aim is to create an atmosphere where you feel comfortable to explore what it means to follow Jesus as his disciple. The format is normally:

  1. We watch a short video some Bible teaching
  2. We read part of the book of Phillippians and discuss what it means

We plan to start the next Discipleship Explored course on Tuesday 18th August 2026.
